SNAP SHOT OF B4T

I had breakfast with a couple this morning, who after 4 years are shutting down their business. The business was struggling, but they said their greatest problem was that their organizational leaders and team members kept telling them they were wasting their time doing business. In addition, two of the team members were “partners” in the business, yet they did not sacrifice for the company as they saw the business as a platform (a visa and an identity) for ministry. So finally they agreed their leaders are right, and are now days away from going home.

When I asked them had any of their Muslim employees shown an interest in the Gospel and has there been a change in their attitude toward Jesus, they affirmed, “most definitely”. “But” they added, “Our team members keep pointing out that none have come to faith.” I then asked, “During these 4 years, have your team members led anyone to faith?” They answered, “Come to think of it, no!” “So”, I continued, “what evidence do they have that their strategy is more effective than yours?”

We then talked for over an hour about the lessons they’ve learned about God and themselves these past 4 years. We tried to help them to see how God is building a foundation in them to do greater things for His glory. In departing they said, “This has been one of the most encouraging talks we’ve had in a long time…”

Application: If you are discouraged, tired, burnt out, beaten up...You need to connect with others who are like minded, who have walked the path before you.  The Scriptures teach, you become like the company you keep. (1 Corinthians 15:33 & Proverbs 12:26) If you need help connecting with others, please write and let me know.
