The B4T Expo is just three weeks away.
This will be the premier B4T event of the year. Two key goals are:
1. Present
business solutions for reaching the unreached
Business for transformation is centered
in relationships; relationships with God, people and communities. We recognize
that in doing Christ-centered business, business is a superb way of introducing
and connecting people and communities with Jesus. The central factor in most
peoples’ livies is their job. We have experienced how the workplace can transformation
lives in communities and in the ways business meets human needs by creating
jobs, and providing desired products and services. Different, often
misunderstood, methods for sowing seed among the least reached will be
discussed. At the B4T Expo the need for for-profit, scale-able business
approaches will be showcased and stories shared how B4T businesses are:
reaching unreached peoples, reducing poverty, and freeing women and men from
slavery.
2. Advance the B4T movement toward a tipping point for global impact
We
have witnessed significant, holistic transformation of people in the workplace. However,
transformation on a macro level impacting cultures, cities and nations is still
a wishful dream. To see this dream become a reality we need to create momentum
for transformational businesses to scale up and multiply. This involves
engaging with other transformational influencers in society and building
vertical links with policy shapers, legislators, educators, and others. We need
a growing B4T eco-system, that includes a diversity of businesses in terms of
scale, industry and focus. We seek to see more B4T businesses of all sizes
linked with others who can assist in propelling us toward fulfilling God’s
purposes. This will take focused efforts on mobilizing and equipping more B4T
practitioners and the creation of forums and networks for B4Ters to connect and
learn from each other and effective BAMers too.
Business
for transformation is not a strategy or a unique ministry technique. It is a
worldview and business praxis based on Godly, biblically-based principles. The
sacred/secular divide is still permeating the Church worldwide. We are called to
change the thinking of the global Church about life and work – business. B4T is
a new mission paradigm growing within the marketplace where there are few or no
churches. Paradigm shifts are both stressful and take time. We need an intergenerational,
long- term view. We believe that B4T and its underpinning paradigm will become
a new norm for reaching people everywhere.
The
B4T Expo will engage with leaders in business and churches to influence
attitudes toward a holistic view and application of life and work – all things for the glory of God. (Colossians 3:23). We affirm all work,
whatever a person’s job may be, as a God-given gift and calling.
