Have you heard, “You can't take it with
you?”
I am beginning to believe that’s
wrong. Yes, you cannot take it with you
if it's an idol, or you cling to it, or you lust after it, but if you are
stewarding God’s things, God’s money, God’s stuff, yes you can take it with
you. It’s simply a matter of
transferring it to your heavenly account.
When we enter another country we go to the money changer and exchange
our former home country's currency for the new country’s money. When we check
in at that pearly gates we will go to the angel in the ‘Currency Changer’ booth
to exchange the things we’ve stewarded for Jesus on earth into heavenly
rewards.
Jesus
clarifies, Do
not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy,
and where thieves break in and steal.
But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin
do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart
will be also. Matthew 6:19-21
So you can take it with you, it’s just
that what you take needs to be in a convertible currency. How
are you doing in your stewardship of your monies, time and possessions?
